CHOLESTEROL PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Cholesterol screening shall follow the State of Connecticut guidelines. These include:
Registrants must be 19 years or older.
Persons taking lipid lowering drugs are not candidates for cholesterol screening.
The purpose of cholesterol screenings is to detect individuals with high levels of blood cholesterol and make appropriate referrals. It is meant to raise awareness about eating patterns and other approaches to achieve and maintain appropriate levels of blood cholesterol.
The test involves a finer stick. Results are available within 5 – 7 minutes. A maximum of 18 people can be screened.
DATE: September 13th, 10 – 12, at the Senior Center.
You do not need to fast for this test.
