You should shop as if you are shopping locally. All companies have sales, and all companies have items that may not be competitive. You must always shop as a wise and informed consumer. That means….. Do your homework.
Travel Search Sites: Search for lower cost restaurants, hotels, airfares, cars, etc:
Open Table represents 25,000 restaurants in most large cities.

Hotwire is the sister company to Orbitz. The trick with Orbitz is that the prices tend to be lower, but they will NOT tell you the hotel or supplier until AFTER you have committed. They do give reviews, maps, and star ratings to help you decide.

Here are some airline sites that should be checked before you buy. I tend to use the search sites, so do not have many links to specific airlines. You should use Southwest for any route that Southwest travels because Southwest does NOT do business with the search sites.

Amazon is not only books. Amazon.com has become a huge marketplace. Amazon has relationships with individual suppliers around the country, and promotes their goods as well. You can find used and re-furbished goods here. Like shopping in general, to get the best price, it is extremely helpful to be sure you are shopping like for like articles. Try to shop at the make model number to be sure you are getting a good deal. Much the same goes for EBAY. EBAY has a bit of everything, but it really helps to know your market. You can find the very same article on EBAY that is tremendously over-priced and a tremendous bargain. You have to enjoy the chase. Also included are several wholesale or used article sites.

Pricegrabber will surf the web for you and find the article you are shopping for at multiple web stores. It will provide a list of stores, prices and shipping and a link to the article. Very helpful when trying to determine the range of prices for a single article. You can search for most anything.

E-Deal posts sales, coupons and specials for a variety of items. Check it out. A link is provided to the site that honors the coupon, or is having the sale.
